Long-distance move from Alberta to British Columbia

Avoid this Company.

Apologies to those customers after me!I should have filed my complaints much earlier to avoid your making the same mistake ie.hiring this co.! I'd hoped that after several calls to them,my lost/stolen items would be retrieved. In spite of being 20 lbs.under quoted rate,I still paid $700 more.I was assured upfront that there were no additional costs. They unloaded & stored my items in Calgary, loaded again to transport to Vancouver, unloaded in Vancouver warehouse, then reloaded into uhaul & delivered then to me.All of which I had to pay for.A total of 5 loads & unloads which resulted in several damaged & missing items. What should have been a one day trip Alberta to Vancouver turned into a 27 day nightmare. In addition, upon arrival, there was no effort (runners etc) made to protect the brand new carpets, floors, from scratches & dirt.I know that I will never see my missing items again.I hope that this company is no longer in business,& if they are,I would hope that I have prevented someone from making the same mistake I did.The Better business bureau in Alberta should definitely be informed of their fraudulent practices.

Long-distance move from Alberta to Saskatchewan

Great moving services.

I was very impressed when my movers arrived. They were friendly, clean and professional. The way they packed my furniture I was very impressed. They promised delivery to Saskatchewan within 2-3 days and they delivered in 2 days. Estimated price was very accurate and even I had less weight and I got $120 back from them. They placed all items neatly and assembled all beds for me as I am single mum. They were fantastic! I have read terrible reviews about some companies and was very sceptical but no doubt I would highly recommend City Line Moving to all my friends and family! Will definitely use them again. Thank you.

Worst Service I have ever recieved.

Do not touch this company with a ten foot pole. I was promised a pickup on a date early in July going from northern alberta to southern alberta. I was asked that I pay a deopsit and afterword is when it went wrong. Driver never arrived designated date (no notification of delay), I had to phone them to learn it was going to be delayed unspecified number of days. When I tried to confirm a day then service got wrose. I was hung up on several time, never once responded to when I was told I would be, swore at by driver and staff, and generally made to feel like I was the buden. I was denied chance to even speak to their Manager.   Calgary Office service was apalling. When I went with another company who had delivered same day, City line failed to refund deposit forcing me to dispute charge with VISA (Winning - No Surprise). And while I cannot speak for other offices, the service from Calgary Office was appalling to say the very least. Home Office also was not helpful and instead kept directing me back to Calgary when I had made abundantly clear I was getting nowhere except "Oh.. It may be here, or there".   Stay clear of this company, and go elsewhere. Elite Moving was fantastic, as were a number of other companies I phoned who were likewise appalled by service I got. Or rather the service I did not receieve, and the verbal abuse I was recieving on phone.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Ontario

We were impressed both at the collection and delivery end of the move.

Hello Kelly,
This is a note to tell you and City Line Moving and Storage how we were impressed with the work of your crew. The men who collected the furniture and the paintings were meticulous in their care in packaging the furniture and the paintings. They were well organized, thorough, courteous and pleasant. At the other end, in Oakville, Ontario,  my son reported that the City Line Moving & Storage crew again, were well organized, thorough, careful in the extreme to ensure that both the furniture and painting were delivered without damage.

Both he, and I, will contact City Line Moving & Storage when we have need to relocate in the future, and we would not hesitate in recommending City Line Moving & Storage to family, friends, and business associates should they have need to move.

Thank you and your company for an excellent job very well done.

NEVER use this company.

It has been 5 months since our move and we still can't believe how horrible our experience was with this company.  I am writing this review in hopes that it will prevent everyone from making the same mistake we made by hiring this company.  The following is a list of reasons not to choose Cityline: -could not give us an exact pick up date until the night before -pick up was 4 hours late and they arrived out our home at 7pm and left at 2am -did not take off shoes or use covers for shoes and left carpets and hardwood floors very muddy and dirty -many dents in our walls -one man drunk on the job -did not warn us that we would not receive our belongings when we arrived in Calgary right away which resulted in a 6 day waiting period. -Once the truck arrived at our new home in Calgary, they surprised us with a charge for storing our items in their warehouse for the 6 days we didn't have them.  They wouldn't unload our belongings until we paid -tried to speak to a manager multiple times - never successful -they brought us boxes that didn't belong to us -they misplaced multiple things of ours and we still haven't received them There are many more issues that we had with this company but this list should be more than enough to convince you not to choose this company.  Bottom line is that this company made an already stressful situation more stressful.  Please find ANY other moving company.

Disaster.

My worse fear has materialized. Everything could go wrong had gone wrong. Started with they sent a smaller truck despite the fact I called numerous times asking for a 28' or larger. We ended up getting a second truck in the evening - wasted so much time. Movers took 9 hours to LOAD, estimate was 3, and that was with LOTS of help from us 3. Movers did not remove shoes even asked and reminded, no blankets to protect floors, took movers 20 minutes to tape one item in -14C, tapes don't stick in cold temp. Why not doing it inside? These are NOT professional movers as they claimed. One of 2 movers was a off-street-loaner, he told me he does not work for the company, he is doing it for extra cash. I mentioned to Stan he was totally in denial. Everything moved and placed in their storage 6 hours later.  The move from storage to new address was also a joke. Truck was unloaded but about 1/2 truck load of items were missing. I had to help identify my stuff in storage. Many items broken including my LCD TV, lamps, table, vases. Movers did used blankets, removed shoes, and worked faster. Bottom line is Never Go Back to this company. Please take this review seriously.

Bad!

To be fair, I am going to start saying that the movers did a great job with the furniture, packing and delivering. Friendly, nice guys. The problem I have with this company is the customer service. You have to be very patient! I am a fair person and like to treated the same way. I called this company is September saying that I needed to move in November. They said ok, blah blah but no dates could be scheduled bc it was too soon in September and they would let me know.. October 20th comes and no calls. I called and they said it was still too early.. I called other companies but it was already too late to schedule for november so I was stuck. I paid the deposit. I called again November 3rd, still no dates.. They called me on a Friday saying they'd be there next day which I could not make and said it was unfair to give me such a short notice. We agreed on the last week of november. They told me it would take 1 to 2 weeks for delivery. I said I would be traveling on Dec 20th and would need everything there. The answer was "no problem".. I agree that I should not have trusted them and packed the minimum things to carry with me, leaving all to be transported. Needless to say that December 20th came and no furniture. I even offered more money to have it delivered but nothing could be done. Christmas gifts for my family? not this year.. VEry disappointing! My furniture was delivered mid January after my vacation. It was scheduled for the 14th but ended up being delivered on the 17th with 2 missing items. Now I am contacting customer support to see if they find it for me.  Good luck!  .

Not Impressed.

My family and I have moved several times over the years and have always used moving companies. We have always had great service and our belongings were always looked after, that is until we used City Line Moving and Storage. The customer service was horrible! We were told we got one month free storage, we needed our items to stay with the company for 1 week until we got possession of our house. We were told that our items would stay on the truck because it was a slow time for them and wouldn't be a problem. When our items were first loaded they filled a tractor trailer, when our items were delivered to our new address they were in a truck half the size and almost everything was damaged in some way or another and our black leather furniture was covered in dirt and mud and was ripped and scratched and the same with our bedroom set as well. I had broken vases, picture frames and several pieces of damaged furniture. When the company was confronted they had the "I don't care" attitude. We will NEVER use this company again.

Moving Experience.

I was moving from Vancouver to Edmonton in August 2014.  I received an estimate of moving charges via the phone using a provided checklist.  I went over everything with the person I was talking with.  I booked the move well in advance and received confirmation.  The morning I was to move they did not show.  Upon repeated follow up by myself and having been told 6 different times to expect them, they showed up 2 full days late.  They took 23 hours to load up.  A few days later on a Saturday evening I was called and told they would arrive at my new home to unload within a few hours and that the estimate was off by 2.5 times the amount.  I was informed that I would need to have $7000 CASH to pay the movers or they would take my possessions to a warehouse in Calgary and would return them at a later date at my expense.  It was Saturday night and banks were not open.  They were not at all reasonable regarding this requirement.  I heard later that this company actually auctions people's belongings off if they cannot pay.

During this event I repeated asked to speak to a manager or owner but was not given that opportunity.  I now believe that they deliberately grossly underestimated the weight.  They were not at all up front regarding their policy of being paid that much money in cash upon delivery.

Long-distance move from Manitoba to Alberta

Worst experience I have ever had.

First I would like to say if I could give a negative review I would. This was the worst experience I've had with anything.

In the beginning everything seemed really good, it seemed to be way more economical than renting a uhaul and driving my stuff from winnipeg to edmonton (uhaul would be 1800 and city line quoted me 815). I only had one real piece of furniture and that was a bed, everything else was small (clothes, movies, fabric, ect.). They told me that my stuff would take 1-2 weeks to get to my final destination. This is where everything went downhill. It took over a month for my stuff to get to my new place. I called their Calgary office often and they really were if no help whatsoever. I believe that they would not have even told me of the delay had I not inquired on my own. Finally the day came for them to show up and they charged me over 2 times my estimated quote!! And not only that they we not on time as I only had someone to be there to recieve the items before 3. So we arranged that they would be at my house around 1 when my brother called the driver at 1:30 he said he wouldn't be at the destination until after 3! When I called the office to tell them that that wouldn't work for me they asked me to BEG my brother to stay just an extra half hour! I was outraged!

Not only will I never ever use this company again, I will strongly recommend other to also never use this company.
